Domaine Ludon 1998 Silent Domains

The 1998 vintage Armagnac from Domaine Ludon, offered cask strength by L’Encantada, is an exceptional eau-de-vie from the prestigious Armagnac appellation, in the heart of the Gascon Gers.

Made from the Folle Blanche grape variety, characteristic of the finest Armagnac terroirs, this 1998 vintage was distilled in the traditional Armagnac still, then patiently aged in oak barrels for more than 25 years. This long time in the barrel gives it remarkable aromatic complexity and incomparable depth.

Aromatic profile: The amber colour reveals a refined nose of beeswax and polished furniture, with hints of raisins and cola. Elegant floral touches emerge, followed by notes of dark chocolate and light spices with hints of curry. On the palate, the attack is powerful yet harmonious, revealing dried fruits (dates, figs), bitter chocolate and a rancio typical of old Bas-Armagnacs. The finish is long, rich and indulgent.

Tasting: Best enjoyed neat, at room temperature, in a tulip glass to reveal its full complexity. Ideal as a digestif after a Gascon meal or paired with a square of dark chocolate.
