Domaine Del Cassou 2005: the vintage chosen by the Social Club

The Domaine Del Cassou 2005 #13 is a rather special vintage in L’Encantada’s history: it was the members of our Social Club who took part directly in its selection. In spring 2026, we sent them three samples of Armagnac that had never been bottled before. No domaine name, no vintage and no indication of grape variety: a true blind tasting to let the sensations speak for themselves. After tasting, comments and votes, the sample corresponding to the Domaine Del Cassou 2005 #13 stood out. Results video We decided to bring their choice to life with the Social Club 2026 Collection, produced in a limited edition of just 200 bottles and presented in packaging specially created for the occasion.

A 100% Baco Bas-Armagnac

The Domaine Del Cassou is located in Arthez-d’Armagnac, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac. Its eaux-de-vie are made exclusively from the Baco grape variety, with some vines over a century old. Distillation is carried out using a mobile still, and ageing in red oak barrels contributes to the naturally fruity character of its Armagnacs.

Tasting Notes

Nose: generous and indulgent, built around cherry, caramel and dark chocolate. Notes of oak, pepper and sandalwood appear next, accompanied by a subtle touch of vanilla. Palate: a powerful and warm attack. After aeration, cherry asserts itself alongside sweet spices, pastry notes, roasted peanut and oak. The whole offers a fine balance between fruit, richness and a light bitterness. Finale: long, spicy and woody, with a return of dark chocolate that brings a seductive bittersweet touch.

More than just a new L’Encantada Armagnac, this vintage tells the story of the Social Club spirit: discovering, tasting, sharing and taking part in the selection of our future bottlings. The Domaine Del Cassou 2005 #13 is bottled at 52.1% vol., in a 50 cl format, and limited to 200 bottles.
