Description
The result of the blending of a Bas Armagnac and a Grand Bas Armagnac, terroirs renowned for the finesse and the intensely floral and fruity character of their eaux-de-vie.
Tasting note
Nose
Rich, concentrated. Empreint de classicisme, le premier nez révèle des notes de pruneau et d’abricot. Balsamic (cedar), it evolves on toffee and tawny sands (boulbènes). Then, flowers (lilies, iris) spread their heady perfumes. As it goes along, it shows exoticism (mango). Figs and blood oranges give it a lot of freshness.
Palate
Lively, unctuous. Placed on the tip of the tongue, acidulous notes of fresh fruit (grape, apple) and exotic fruit (passion fruit) bring just the right amount of acidity to the mouth. It expands to become creamy (almond milk) and slightly earthy (gentian root). The finish is naturally tertiary (cocoa bean, black licorice, tuberose, roasted nuts)
Overall
Long, finely tannic. It highlights the land where it was born. The image of the hourglass and the slow passage of time is obvious. Thus, from fresh fruits (grape) to candied fruits (apricot) and from heady flowers (honeysuckle) to undergrowth notes (mushrooms), it constantly gains in maturity. The retro-olfaction is spicy (ginger, cinnamon) and earthy. From the empty glass escape the scents of freesia and orange blossom.
