Description

The 2016 vintage Armagnac from Domaine du Pin, presented in this limited edition Barbados Rum Finish, is a bold and original expression crafted by L’Encantada. This cask strength bottling from the Small Batch series (Lot #45) combines the elegance of Gascon Bas-Armagnac with the exotic richness of Barbados rum casks.

This 2016 vintage was first distilled in the traditional Armagnac alembic pot still, aged for 7 years in Gascon oak casks, then transferred to Barbados rum casks for a finishing period. This double maturation creates a unique aromatic profile blending Bas-Armagnac structure with tropical rum notes.

Tasting notes: Deep mahogany colour. The nose reveals coconut, creamy vanilla, passion fruit and sugarcane notes on a spiced Armagnac backbone. The palate is smooth and aromatic, with a beautiful tension between Bas-Armagnac power and tropical rum sweetness. Long, spiced and slightly sweet finish.

Nose

Beautiful combination of mango and pineapple. Fresh cane juice adds an extra touch of sweetness that is perfectly balanced with the exotic notes of coconut and candied fruit. It emanates a delicious smell of caramelized tarte tatin that makes you want to dive straight into the glass.

Palate

Bold and textured. The first sip carries notes of juicy mango and papaya, toasted almonds… A delicate hint of fresh ginger adds an exotic, slightly spicy touch. A subtle sensation of brown sugar and the return of ripe fruit.
