By bringing together these two rum purists, Equiano is now a 100% natural rum, with no spices, additives or added sugar. All its deep, rich flavours come from the ancient bourbon and cognac casks in which it underwent tropical maturation, making Equiano totally unique.
It’s named after Olaudah Equiano, a freedom fighter who fought his way to liberation by selling rum. Equiano was one of the first African writers to see his work published, and his fascinating memoirs were the inspiration for the Transatlantic Slave Trade Act of 1807.
The Equiano Rum Co Foundation is proud to allocate 5% of its profits each year to local freedom and equality projects.

Description
Equiano is the world’s first African and Caribbean rum. This multi-award-winning aged rum is one of the world’s finest rums in the 8-12 year old category, having won gold medals in all the major international competitions.
Equiano is the fruit of the collaboration of two distilleries located on two different continents, creating something entirely new for this age-old craft. The liquid is a blend of one of Africa’s finest distilleries, Gray’s of Mauritius, and the world-renowned Bajan distillery, Foursquare.
