Description

The 1999 vintage armagnac from Domaine Cutxan, bottled as a brut de fut by L’Encantada, is aged 26 years in Gascon oak casks — an authentic expression of Bas-Armagnac terroir.

Distilled by traditional continuous armagnac still from Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc, this unfiltered, uncut vintage perfectly reflects the character of the Domaine Cutxan, one of L’Encantada’s hand-selected estate producers.

Tasting notes: Amber robe with golden highlights. Fruity and woody nose — peach, apricot jam, vanilla. Balanced, fleshy palate with spiced notes and a long finish.

Serving: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a tulip glass. Perfect as a digestif or on special occasions.

Tasting note

Nose

Very rich aromas, we feel that this domain has things to reveal to us. The first nose reveals us with elegance a palette of aromas: plums, dried flowers, exotic fruits and caramelized pineapple. A slight spicy side with the scent of saffron, turmeric and licorice of course.

Palate

Nice sensation of volume in the mouth. This particular texture gives way to flavors of vanilla, ripe fruits with a hint of acacia honey.

Overall

The finish is spicy with curry and saffron. This Cutxan estate is charming and evolves with each sip. We think that this Armagnac changes the meaning of the word “brut de fût”(cask strength)…by its sweetness and its persistence in mouth!
