The Encantada is a young company created by 4 enthusiasts. They bottle Bas-Armagnac at cask strength. These armagnacs come from small producers whose some don’t distil anymore. This 25 years old armagnac is the result of the blend of a Bas-Armagnac and a grand Bas-Armagnac, which is famous for its fineness and its floral and fruity character.
Profile : rich, creamy. Fresh fruits (prune, apricot, fig) and heady flowers (lilies, iris). Toffee and exotic fruits (mango, persimmon, passion fruit). creamy note (almond milk) and earthy.
- Nose: rich, concentrated. Full of classicism, the first nose reveals prune and apricot notes. Balsamic (cedar), it evolves on toffee and towny sand (boulbenes). Then, flowers (lilies and iris) spread its heady perfumes. Then, it becomes exotic (mango). Figs and bloody oranges bring lot of freshness.
- Palate: Lively, creamy. Placed on the tip of the tong, acid notes of fresh fruits (grape, apple) and exotic (passion fruit) bring the perfect dose of acidity. It enlarges to be creamy (almond milk), and lightly earthy (root, gentian). The palate end is naturally tertiary (cacao bean, licorice, tuberous, roasted nut).
- Overall: long, lighlty tannic. It reveals its terroir. The idea of the hourglass and the time which goes becomes evident. So, from fresh fruit (grape) to candied fruit (apricot) and from heady flowers (honeysuckle) to undergrowth (mushrooms) it becomes more mature. The retro-nasal olfaction is spicy (ginger, cinnamon) and earthy. The empty glass releases freesia and orange blossom perfumes.
